In a taut, nearly impossible backbend, Grounded confounds expectation—poised between control and surrender. Though stretched skyward, she remains deeply rooted, both physically and symbolically. Ferns, cast as feathered limbs, serve as botanical imprints of botanical mimicry—feathers rendered from leaves—linking the figure to nature’s pattern and ancestral myth. The work inhabits the threshold where body becomes landform, and presence becomes ritual.
