Xuaca No. 2 Large Resin-Clay Sculpture

Following the original Xuaca No. 1, which marked the first step of the spirit's journey—an honoring and reconstitution of the body through sacred ritual—Xuaca No. 2 enters a liminal space: the Bardo, the in-between.
 
Here, the figure emerges from stillness. No longer rooted solely in grief, she hovers between dissolution and transformation. Where Xuaca No. 1 reflects mourning and preparation, Xuaca No. 2 holds the gradual reanimation of memory and identity, the spirit beginning to find shape again through mystery and presence.
 
Again, creation in a new material maps a gesture of devotion and an exploration of cultural rituals around death, transition, and becoming.
